I recently did a head shot session with James, a pianist with the National Ballet School. We did the session in one of the school’s dance studios and the late afternoon light, from the large windows, was fantastic.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know Abby, the Weimaraner—James is Abby’s human!

I went for a couple of visits to Hidden Springs this weekend. Hidden Springs is race horse facility located near Uxbridge, Ontario. It’s an absolutely beautiful place, the nicest horse property I’ve ever been on. The owner is super friendly and happy to have people visit. We have an open invitation to return, and we surely will, as often as we can!!!

Hidden Springs.

The back paddock is gorgeous!

Another angle on the back paddock. I love this vista. We want to go back and catch sunrise at this spot!

The front paddock is also gorgeous. I loved this white horse grazing with the white flowers ; )

A couple of those Million Dollar Babies!

There are lots of black farm cats at Hidden Springs. The first time we discovered the property (back in April) the owner wasn’t on site, so we couldn’t get permission to take pictures of the horses. But we did take some pics of all the black cats. At one point we counted a dozen of them all together! According to Hidden Springs’ owner there aren’t as many black cats there now. When the weather gets warm some of them move on to new locals, maybe some will return next season ; )

This is a momma cat, we managed to capture a few shots of her kittens (the kittens were very skittish). Most of her litter was grey, so soon there will be a bunch of grey cats on the property, to add to all the black cats ; )

Grey kitten.

Close up of a beautiful foal. I’m a sucker for brown and white horses, just love them!

Woofstock is a fantastic doggie festival that takes place in Toronto every year. This was my first time attending, and it didn’t disappoint. I met lots of cute doggies, and got some fun pics (despite challenging sunny day conditions).

This is BunnyB. She was one of my favourites from my Woofstock 2014 visit. She’s a cross between a Wolfhound and an Australian Shepherd—fairly rare, I believe! She was a rescue, adopted in Montreal and is now living in Toronto. I’ve never met a dog like her before. She was gorgeous!!

Woofstock was great for meeting sets of dogs, like these three collies. They aren’t related, just part of a collie-owning group of friends.

This is Ruby. Ruby was born with a deformed jaw, and because of this her tongue always hangs out of her mouth all the time, even when she is eating (a messy affair!). According to her human, everyone always wants to take her picture… yup, me too!

One hot dog!

This shaggy dog was so cute, but a tricky photo-subject! It’s hard to find the eyes to focus on under those bangs ; ) Woofstock is also tricky for getting a dogs attention. There is so much to distract them; all the other dogs and action going on around them. I wish I’d gotten more pics of this cutie.

A cute little ball of fluff! I managed to get a shot of this dog during a brief cloudy sun-break.

I love look up shots. I was working with a 35mm f1.4 lens, perfect for capturing these types of shots.

Another look up subject. I loved the curl of this pug’s tongue. So cute.

This was a handsome boy. So cute, and I love this look up shot ; )
